short status post today

Posted by Chris under Social Networking, Twitter

Today’s a tired day, coming off the low points of a tough day at the agency yesterday, as reported by Lazarus. The caffeine jump I needed this morning has been replaced by emotional and a bit of physical exhaustion. Can’t say much more than what hasn’t been said through friends statuses between Facebook and Twitter.

On the flip side the vision and direction of the Catalyst team that I got going a few months back is out for everyone to see, In other words, it’s game on for the agency. If we’re going to make it, and I believe we will then we’re putting our best foot forward in what we stand for and how we’re going to do it.

But back to statuses or is it Statusi or just plain Status.

I’ve noticed something interesting the last two days, which builds on what I’ve seen happen around other major events. Status posting become defacto communication, people even changing their status to reflect someone else’s status. I get this with Twitter after all it’s not really for status anymore it’s that, news, content, links and everything in between that a 140 character punchline can convey. Browsers like Flock really bring this to life when in one tab you can see all of your friends and their status. And my preferred Twitter client Twhirl let’s me keep that second monitor and space #2 (thanks Leopard) up to date.

And that brings me to how to keep all of these statuses up to date. And that’s where Ping.fm comes in handy. Ping allows you to send via your browser or even via email your status, blog or micro-blog status at once to multiple services. So one update and Twitter, Facebook, Plurk, etc. are all updated. Pretty nifty huh.

Ping.fm even allows you to customize where your message goes when you’re on the go, using @fb for facebook of @s for all your status updates but not blog posts.

Ok, now I’ve got to get back to reading status, the new microblog
