Great Lessons in Customer Service.

Posted by Chris under Social Networking, plugins, widget

Over the weekend a friend of mine recommended a new(ish) wordpress widget/plugin from Adaptive Blue called SmartLinks. After downloading and a quick FTP I installed it, a very quick and painless process (as most wordpress plugin’s are).

After activating I noticed that I didn’t seem to really have many SmartLinks working so I deactivated it. That’s where Christina from Adaptive Blue comes in. The next day I got an email from her to say that they saw I downloaded it, activated it but then deactivated it and was there a problem they could help me with.

Wait, proactive customer service and I didn’t have to do anything. Fantastic.

Well it turns out it was pretty much all my issue as the majority of my links were not content they support. Again more about my content then them.

Since Monday I’ve had a couple of emails back and forth with Christina and have an open dialog with her to suggest other sites, They obviously are engaging in a dialog with bloggers who use and try their product on a proactive basis.

I for one say Bravo, another great example of creating and engaging in a conversation with a consumer.

And lastly I do recommend you try SmartLinks on your blog. It’s a great UX and I think the information you get relevant to the link is fantastic. Why becuase if I link to the book I’m reading now, The Black Swan, the impact of highly improbable or House of Leaves, you can select the blue SmartLink next to the book title and get more info/choices before you even click. But check out their list of supported sites and examples here.

Tomorrow, thoughts on Firefox 3, after I installed it yesterday before Rob.
